On Saturday, March 28 from 10-12 noon, we will have a Unity Founder Myrtle Fillmore
Empty Chair Visualization Workshop at the Lighthouse. In 1886, while emaciated with
tuberculosis, Fillmore attended a life-changing New-Age thought lecture that introduced
her to the idea that prayer is not about begging but about aligning one’s consciousness
with Divine truth. Central to Fillmore’s healing was the spiritual practice of using an
empty chair as a focal point. While visualizing Jesus, the Way-Shower, sitting in the
chair, Fillmore would share her thoughts and seek guidance, affirming “I am the child of
God, and therefore I do not inherit sickness.” During our retreat, each attendee will paint
a miniature wooden chair, listen to Fillmore’s letters, journal, nature walk, share
thoughts, and participate in guided meditation. We ask for a $5 dollar love offering for
materials.
